Senior Programmer Analyst

Pay Range: $57,394 annually or higher commensurate with experience

Position Summary:
The Senior Programmer/Analyst supports Admissions, Recruitment, Campus Visits and Events, and New Student Orientation operations by providing complex programming, design and analysis work, systems development, and complex report writing. This person serves as the technical Banner Admissions module leader and supports all technology services in the Admissions Office. The Senior Programmer/Analyst works cooperatively with Enrollment Management leadership, IT staff, and other office staff to achieve university and Admissions Office goals.

Minimum Qualifications:

- A bachelors degree and three years of relevant professional experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement.
- Considerable knowledge of techniques of programming, system analysis and design; software products; computer system concepts and data management; capabilities of computer systems, database design and procedures.
- Demonstrated experience as a project or team leader.
- Experience performing systems analysis and design; identifying and solving computerized data problems.
- Experience interacting with users to analyze their needs, identify and resolve problems
- Experience using data modeling concepts and database definitions
- Experience using relational database design techniques; testing and debugging code
- Ability to identify and resolve database errors, generating and maintaining application systems which rely on database management systems.
- Experience applying security to database access applications
- Strong knowledge of PC desktop software applications.
- Substantial job experience with SQL and relational databases.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience with Banner or similar higher education enterprise management product.
- Experience with Oracle, UNIX/Linux, C or PRO*C, SQL, PL/SQL, UNIX Shell Scripting.
- Experience in higher education.
- Hands on knowledge and experience with application and system upgrades and maintenance.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work with diverse internal and external constituencies.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
