Position Summary
The Instructor of Music History will manage all aspects of music history classes, including creation of course calendar, classroom teaching, use of classroom management software, and grading of student work. The Instructor of Music History will work with music history coordinator to insure consistency of curriculum.
Essential Functions
Official duties and responsibilities of faculty members at the University include teaching, scholarship, service and professional activities. In all matters, faculty are expected to maintain the highest standards of professional ethics consistent with the UIW Mission.
Job Duties
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Experience teaching both music majors and non-majors.
Experience teaching the European musical tradition and world musics
Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.
Required Education
M.M. in Musicology
Required Work Experience
Experience teaching class piano, or other group keyboard classes.
Preferred Qualifications
Two or more years of teaching experience in music history at the university level.
Ph. D. in Musicology preferred
