About the Opportunity:
This position reports to the Director-Finance & Data Management within the Khoury College of Computer & Information Sciences. The Associate Dir-Finance is responsible for supporting the day to day finances and logistics for Khoury.
The position will develop, analyze and maintain the operating, designated, and restricted budgets at Khoury College. The position will develop revenue and expense projections and review and authorize budget transactions. The position will maintain an electronic tracking system for all financial transactions and a detailed reconciliation process for the fiscal year for all budgets. The position will oversee the maintenance on financial record files and will work with the Budget Office and Provost Office on all financial matters.
Responsibilities:
The Associate Director will help provide strategic, creative, forward-thinking leadership and solutions oriented fiscal advice and counsel for the Khoury College. A high degree is required of demonstrated technical skills in fiscal management, knowledge of accounting and business practices. Ability to strategically manage funds effectively from a variety of sources and on a variety of fiscal cycles.
The position is responsible for the development and implementation of internal controls that ensure compliance with University and College policies and procedures. The position will perform budget and variance analysis overseeing the Khoury College's Department Heads and Budget Administrators in the monitoring and analysis of departmental budgets. The position will perform process optimization and develop documentation for all Finance functions within Khoury.
Qualifications:
They will also have a solid understanding of financial and research data and will be able to draw correlations between all data sets. They will have strong excel skills and knowledge of advanced functions to manipulate and combine data from multiple sources. They will have experience using reporting tools such as Cognos in order to extract data from the university's data warehouse. They will present data in multiple formats (i.e. charts, tables) to the Director-Finance & Data Management to assist with analyzing budget-to-actual performance in all areas. They would ensure that all data is accurate to facilitate strategic decision making.
Bachelor's degree required
The ideal candidate would have a passion for analyzing and understanding data and would be able to quickly recognize and resolve data discrepancies.
Excellent communication skills, with an emphasis on expressing clear, concise and tactful information.
Strong program management, organization and analytical skills required.
Proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office software.
Demonstrated experience working both independently and as a member of a team. Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information.
Experience building and maintaining solid relationships with external vendors in a professional setting.
Collaborative strategies and team leadership skills a must.
Experience working with university data and knowledge of Banner, Concur, Cognos and Argos preferred.

5-7 years of academic or business administrative experience preferred.
