Position Summary
The School of Nursing is seeking a Clinical Teaching Assistant (CTA) to support activities of the Clinical Learning Center and clinical practicums.


This position is considered a Responsible Employee under Title IX federal regulations and Mandatory Reporter under Texas state law and The UIW Sexual Misconduct Policy. As a Mandatory Reporter this position requires you as the employee to promptly report any incident that you witness or receive information about violating Title IX. These reporting responsibilities are set out in the UIW Sexual Misconduct Policy.

Description of Job Duties
CTAs work with the Clinical Learning Center Coordinator and course faculty to plan and implement learning experiences in the Clinical Learning Center and clinical sites.
Additional responsibilities include:
-Preparing equipment and supplies for labs;
-Transporting equipment and supplies to designated areas;
-Providing basic operation and maintenance of laboratory
and simulation equipment;
-Staging the simulation environment for scenario implementation;
-Facilitating simulation activities;
-Serving as a resource for students during open lab times;
-Attending continuing education pertaining to clinical simulation and clinical practicums;
-Perform other duties as assigned


Knowledge Skills and Abilities
-Good oral and written communication skills;
-Basic computer skills including Word and Excel programs;
-Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures;
-Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA

Required Education
Bachelors of Nursing degree

Required Work Experience
Three (3) or more years of clinical experience.

Preferred Qualifications


Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations
-Current RN license or eligibility for the privilege to practice in the State of Texas;
-Current Basic Life Support provider status and all clinical clearance requirements to include immunizations;
-Maintain unencumbered RN license and all clinical clearance requirements.
