The Student Services Specialist assists students and University constituents with enrollment-related needs as it pertains to admission to Augusta University as well as other general inquiries using excellent customer service in the Office of Academic Admissions (OAA)
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Provides direct customer assistance, including tour and event support to prospective and current students and their supporters with admissions process
Process and routes incoming inquiries, admissions documents, and logs communications with visitor interactions
Contribute to the overall success of the department by performing other essential duties and responsibilities as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Perform special projects, temporary duties and all other related duties/tasks as assigned
Data entry to support inquiries and visitors
Perform all other job-related duties/tasks as assigned
Required Qualifications
High School diploma, GED or equivalent from a recognized State or Federal accrediting organization required combined with a minimum of one year of customer services, clerical or related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Preference given to individuals with experience in Banner, Xtender, Reporting systems, transfer articulation, or other student information systems. Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Maintain confidentiality; Must be detailed oriented; Intermediate knowledge of computers and office equipment is needed; Preferably, skilled in Microsoft Excel, experience in customer service and/or records management; Preference given to individuals with experience in Banner, SLATE, Xtender, reporting systems, transfer articulation, or other student information systems. Proficient in Microsoft excel. Timely and correctly updating student records; Ability to maintain student records in Banner and SLATE; Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills; Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases; Detail-oriented with strong organizational, customer service and multi-tasking skills; Ability to maintain confidentiality and effectively communicate with diverse populations; Knowledge of AU policies and procedures with the ability to explain policies and procedures. Ability to analyze and prioritize tasks; determine appropriate solutions; and work independently.
Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Days; Monday - Friday
Pay Grade: 8
Salary Minimum: $15.00 - Midpoint: $15.63
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
