Job Description:
The Center Coordinator is responsible for performing professional and administrative duties that facilities the day-to-day operations of the institute. They will assist Institute Leadership in program planning and development, interprets, monitors and analyzes information regarding operating policies and procedures and administers budgets. This position will also oversee the Institute's Social Media Sites as well as interact with key stakeholders (current and prospective students, industry partners, alumni, faculty and staff) seeking more information about the institute and its activities.
This position is part of a bargaining unit and is represented by the union SEIU, Local 200United.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist with Course Scheduling and Curriculum Development.
  • Support ASPI's curricular initiatives, including proposals for the creation of two new degree programs, course regularization, and eventually graduate and undergraduate students entering these new programs.
  • Assist the Director with curriculum review and identify courses applicable to the majors and minors from affiliated faculty across the Maxwell School and the University, including Syracuse Abroad offerings.
  • Prepare reports on course enrollments; Maintain database of campus and off-campus course listings; Create and provide semester course lists for major and minors to students prior to registration; Schedule courses in PeopleSoft; Issue student-specific permission for registration as necessary; Maintain and update APSI website and Answers pages with Course and Program information.
  • Provide administrative support to Institute Leadership, assist Director as liaison to other University departments and offices. This includes faculty searches and reviews.
  • Provide Administrative and Budgetary support as needed. This includes overseeing the Institute office, managing work study and graduate; Budget reconciliation when needed in coordination with the Maxwell Dean's Office.
  • Administer financial records and paperwork, maintain budget records, prepare reports related to ongoing expenses, program and arrange for payments of honoraria as needed.
  • Assist in preparation of the operation budgets for department.
  • Review expenditures to ensure conformance with budgetary and fiscal policies.
  • Monitor and review accounting and related system reports for accuracy and completeness; prepare and review budget, revenue, expenses invoices and other accounting documents related to faculty research subsidies, startups, grants and regular operations
  • Coordinate administrative work associated with conferences, workshops, visiting speakers, special meetings, co-sponsored events, and faculty fellows.
  • Manage logistical planning, including space, publicity, travel and lodging arrangements, technology management, catering, etc.
  • Support ASPI's external engagement via website and social media platforms, regular newsletters, and other communications.
  • Maintain listserv and student records.
  • Maintain and update website to reflect current programs, events, student opportunities, and update course list.
  • Prepare any necessary annual reporting communications.
