Project Coordinator

Requirements

The Project Coordinator is an entry-level professional with limited to no prior professional experience in higher education, project management, or in the consulting field. The Project Coordinator will work closely with the Business Design and Optimization Group's (BDOG) team of experienced consultants to support stakeholder and team engagements and deliver high-quality solutions. Their primary responsibility is to support the Vice President for Strategic Operations & Information Technology and the BDOG leadership team with their projects, including conducting research, gathering data, analyzing information, managing action items, designing presentations and other communications, and coordinating meetings and events. The Project Coordinator has the opportunity to work on various projects across different units gaining exposure to different business challenges and building a strong foundation for a successful consulting career. Additional responsibilities include:
  • Assist in analyzing information and developing insights to identify opportunities and challenges, collaborating with the BDOG consulting team to brainstorm ideas and develop innovative solutions for clients.
  • Prepare presentations, reports, and other deliverables to communicate findings and recommendations effectively.
  • Support the project management process, ensuring tasks are completed within defined timelines and budget constraints.
  • Engage in stakeholder interactions, participating in meetings, workshops, and interviews to understand client needs and gather requirements.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to bring fresh perspectives and value to stakeholder engagements.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of consulting methodologies, tools, and frameworks and other professional development activities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, sharing knowledge and best practices to foster a culture of continuous learning and growth, while maintaining professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality in all interactions and engagements.
  • Support BDOG team operations, including staff recruitment and selection, team meetings, and other engagement and professional development activities, including the student internship program.


Work Interactions

BDOG provides analysis and leadership of key initiatives across the university. As a valued internal consulting resource, the group possesses skills and expertise in business process analysis, project management, business planning and financial analysis which are leveraged for a wide-variety of university needs. While providing services across the university, this team is part of the Office of Chief Operating Officer and reports to the Vice President for Strategic Operations & Information Technology.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Economics, or a related field
  • 1-3 years of professional experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to gather, interpret, and synthesize complex information
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey ideas clearly and concisely
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Suite, WordPress, and other relevant software applications
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented and collaborative environment
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated willingness to learn, adapt, and take initiative
  • Knowledge of consulting methodologies and frameworks is a plus
  • Previous internship or work experience in a consulting, higher education, project management, or related role is advantageous but not mandatory

Pay Range:

The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:
$47,586.00 - $87,558.13

Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University's business needs and external factors.
