Position Announcement

UVU's Institutional Advancement Division (fundraising area of the university) is in search of an analytical, driven, and dedicated individual to take on the role of Reporting Analyst I. The Data & Analysis team is a creative and dynamic place to grow, develop, and perform. Working with the Director of Reporting and Analysis, this position will provide the division and university partners with data to advance fundraising for the university. This position involves interpreting large datasets and generating reports and dashboards to help guide fundraising strategies and decision-making across multiple areas within the division.

*This role is in-person and the individual must reside in the state of Utah to accept the position.*

Summary of Responsibilities

Create lists, reports, and dashboards using established tools to deliver data to Institutional Advancement team members from the fundraising platform Raiser's Edge and other third-party applications.
Create queries, exports, and reports within the fundraising platform to extract data from the system and to establish system lists for use by IA users. Conduct training and ongoing support for list users. Assist IA team members to utilize the reporting and marketing functions of the fundraising platforms.
Conduct analysis on data hygiene and suggest solutions to improve reporting processes. Support data team leadership to implement strategies to enhance data hygiene and accuracy.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications

Graduation from an accredited institution with an associate degree in a related field plus one year of relative experience OR a combination of relevant experience totaling three years.

Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in information technology, business intelligence, or a related field is preferred. Experience in reporting and dashboard authoring and data analysis totaling two to three years.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

Knowledge

Knowledge of databases, data analysis, and report building.
Knowledge of data hygiene best practices.
Knowledge of fundraising reporting and CASE requirements.

Skills

Skilled in data analysis and experience using tools such as Python, SQL, Excel, or other analysis tools.
Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel or similar tools.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, analyze, and interpret complex data sets, and present findings in a clear and actionable manner.
Excellent work management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with stakeholders at all levels.

Abilities

Attention to detail.
Ability to communicate and translate complex concepts in a clear, concise, and easily understood manner.
Ability to work independently, problem solve, take initiative, set priorities, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
