Position Summary:
This position will lead the integrated marketing and engagement efforts of the University of Idaho Foundation (UIF) and drive engagement, growth and outreach. This position is responsible for overall direction of program units servicing out constituents and will supervise others leading these programs. They will work with senior leadership and stakeholders to develop and implement innovative marketing strategies to drive donor acquisition, engagement and retention.
Duties may include:
  • Lead the development of comprehensive marketing and communication strategies to achieve Foundation strategic and annual goals for fundraising and stakeholder engagement
  • Work with direct reports to develop and execute specific campaigns to drive donor cultivation, stewardship and retention
  • Oversee the branding and positioning of the Foundation to ensure alignment with the organization's mission and values and to maximize constituent appeal, trust and confidence
  • Build, lead and supervise a collaborative, integrated marketing team within the Foundation, providing direction, mentorship and support to drive success and professional growth
  • Partner with University Communications and Marketing (UCM) and campus partners to develop cohesive and complimentary strategies to inspire engagement and fundraising in support of key university initiatives
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including donors, board members, volunteers, community partners and internal audiences to support engagement, advocacy and fundraising efforts and elevate the organization's reputation and visibility
  • Manage the integrated marketing budget effectively, allocating resources strategically to achieve engagement and fundraising objectives
  • Other duties as assigned


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in marketing, communications, public relations or journalism
  • Ten years of progressive experience in marketing and communications
  • Five years of supervisory experience
  • Developing and implementing marketing programs and multi-media campaigns
  • Developing and managing budgets
  • Managing multiple projects simultaneously


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Progressively responsible higher education development/advancement leadership experience
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage a complex alumni relations and/or annual giving program
  • Knowledge of using data and analytics to inform decision making
  • Experience collaborating with internal and external stakeholders
