Job Description
An immediate postdoctoral position opening in the area of theoretical condensed matter physics is available in the research group of Prof. Cristian D. Batista at the University of Tennessee. The position provides an opportunity to work on frustrated magnets, topological ordering, and skyrmion physics using numerical methods and quantum many-body for condensed matter systems.


Responsibilities
The selected postdoctoral fellow is expected to conduct independent research in the area of interest.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • Education: Ph.D. in theoretical or computational physics at time of application
  • Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Excellent numerical and computational skills.
  • Experience: Research experience in quantum condensed matter physics with emphasis on quantum magnetism. This requirement can be fulfilled with graduate research experience.

Work Location: on site position at main campus of the University of Tennessee (Knoxville, TN), South College Building on The Hill.

Compensation and Benefits

UT market range:
  • Anticipated hiring range: $62,000 - $65,000
