The Center for Innovative Design and Engineering (CIDE) is a program within the Department of Bioengineering, College of Engineering, Design and Computing, University of Colorado. Our mission is to empower individuals with disabilities to achieve their highest potential through the use of assistive technology, by providing exemplary clinical services, consultation, education, research and innovative technology development.



This full-time position will work in the CIDE office located on the CU Denver Auraria Campus, 1201 5th Street, Denver, CO 80204. The Administrative Assistant III will be responsible for providing organizational, programmatic, and administrative support to the faculty, staff and project leaders at CIDE.



Administrative Assistant III



What you will do:



  • Regularly interact with program customers, collaborators, stake-holders, and patrons to ensure high quality support, services, and satisfaction.

  • Support all aspects of the SWAAAC Assistive Technology (AT) loan library including daily circulation, inventory management, generating waitlist reports, satisfaction surveys, troubleshooting devices, and arranging for repairs when indicated.

  • Conduct needs assessment to determine current and future AT library needs and assist with budgeting and allocation.

  • Purchase of new AT equipment, replacement parts, materials and resources. Assist with entering items into inventory.

  • Create loan library resources to support AT implementation in birth - 21 environments.

  • Create, distribute and analyze surveys for a variety of program purposes including customer satisfaction, quality improvement, program planning, and outcomes measurement.

  • Maintain library database and survey spreadsheets.

  • Develop and maintain strategic email list serves.

  • Work collaboratively with the team to maintain the program's website and social media presence.

  • Develop and manage online event registrations, including invoicing, providing receipts, and online payment transactions.

  • Assist with the development and distribution of program marketing and instructional materials including event announcements, brochures, web posts, guidebooks, newsletters, library Spotlights and social media posts.

  • Assist with the coordination and marketing of statewide team leader and committee meetings, distance learning events, monthly web conferences, office hours, open labs, outreach, and annual conference event.

  • Utilize online university systems to reserve space/rooms and services (IT support, housekeeping) for meetings and events.

  • Interface with community venues and caterers.

  • Prepare monthly program expense reports.

  • Compile and analyze data in order to generate bi-annual reports, or as needed.

  • Update and maintain SWAAAC team membership and member directory.

  • Manage and maintain fleet of iOS mobile devices.

  • Perform software updates on office and library equipment including PC, Android and iOS platforms.

Qualifications you already possess (Minimum Qualifications)


  • Three years of general clerical experience.

Substitution: College or university course work appropriate to the work assignment, may substitute on a year for year basis for the experience

Preferred Qualifications to possess (Preferred Qualifications)



  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Speech Language Pathology (SLP/SLPA), Occupational Therapy Assistant, Education, Special Education, Educational Administration, Business Administration, Marketing, Communication, Management, or other related field.

  • Experience supporting individuals with disabilities within an educational or therapeutic environment.

  • Experience with the application of AT to support individuals with disabilities.

  • Experience utilizing the Microsoft Office Suite to develop, edit and update fliers, presentations, spreadsheets, reports, letters and correspondence.

  • Experience utilizing MS Outlook; experience will include utilizing electronic mail and calendars and electronically scheduling meetings, appointments, and conferences.

  • Experience utilizing Adobe Acrobat, Canva and/or Marketing Cloud, to create marketing materials including newsletters, event brochures, and program fliers.

  • Experience providing administrative assistance to faculty, staff and students within a higher education environment.

  • Experience with development and/or maintenance of a website.

  • Experience with Google applications and iOS environments including Mobile Device Management.

  • The successful candidate will be detail oriented, organized, self-motivated, a fast learner and possess excellent time management skills.

  • Ability to take direction and use independent judgment to coordinate various projects and meet multiple deadlines.

Conditions of Employment


  • With the approval of their immediate supervisor, this position allows for a hybrid work structure where employees may occasionally work remotely, as needed, based on demands of specific work tasks.



Mental, Physical, and/or Environmental Requirements


  • The ability to sit for extended periods, stand and walk occasionally, reach with hands and arms, use hands to manipulate a keyboard and mouse, and have good near vision for computer work;often requiring minimal lifting, but may involve bending or reaching to retrieve items from shelves or drawers.

Compensation and Benefits



The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $48,306 - $53,391.



The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.



The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

This position is eligible for overtime compensation.
