Job Description
This position coordinates and offers on-the-job training and orientation meetings for employees to help them improve, maintain or learn new skills. Responsible for planning continuing education and personal development sessions for employees by collaborating with managers and supervisors on which topics employees need more training on. The Training Specialist creates and arranges training manuals and visual aids for workshops and seminars after first determining the best avenue for offering training to employees on a particular subject. For example, they might determine to train employees using a film, Internet video, classroom lesson, computer modules or even instructional guides.


Responsibilities
  • Schedules and delivering training sessions, orientation meetings, seminars, and symposiums.
  • Develops training content to fit the needs of employees and improving the skill sets of those employees.
  • Evaluates training sessions to determine whether they have been helpful to employees
  • Performs general office work
  • Present certificates/advancements after employees have completed the training requirements.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • Education:
    • Associate's Degree in Training/education/Instructional field or equivalent
  • Experience:
    • Two years of training/instructional experience or specialized education/ instructional training.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
    • Basic understanding of Occupational Safety processes
  • Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
    • Must be patient, have wide range of teaching skills, be active listeners and be good managers of time.
    • Need strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills and public speaking skills for giving presentations and training groups of employees.
    • Should have knowledge of presentation and training software.
    • Ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
    • Ability to successfully execute many tasks simultaneously
    • Ability to work as a team member, as well as independently
    • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications
  • Education:
    • Bachelor's Degree in Training/education/Instructional field or equivalent
  • Experience:
    • Holds valid OSHA 10 Certification
    • Two years of work experience in maintenance or skilled craft jobs.
  • Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
    • Knowledge/Skills in training software
