Description:
The Department of Education and Child Study at Smith College invites applications for a one-year, benefits-eligible position at the rank of Lecturer to begin July 1, 2025. Teaching responsibilities for this position will regularly include: EDC 235: Child and Adolescent Development (Fall and Spring), EDC 243: Multicultural Education (Fall), EDC 278: Race and Education (Spring), and EDC 552: Perspectives on American Education (a graduate-level MAT course on teaching as research, Spring).

Candidates should have a strong foundation in child development with a demonstrated focus on race, ethnicity, equity, and justice in education. We particularly welcome applicants whose research and teaching explore multicultural education, anti-racist pedagogy, or intersectional approaches to equity and inclusion in school contexts. A Ph.D. in education, child development, human development, or a related field is preferred, though a master's degree with relevant teaching experience will be considered.
