Library/Learning Commons Assistant (PT)
Effective immediately: (PT) Library/Learning Commons Assistant - Library, Wilmington University, Dover.
Requirements: A bachelor's degree or equivalent. Must have a minimum of two years' interacting with students. Must have excellent communication, customer-service skills, and organizational skills. Must be detail-oriented and able to work with diverse populations. Must be self-directed and able to make decisions independently. Must be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office products. Knowledge of online research databases and other web-based library resources is preferred. The ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality in any situation is a must.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Information desk & Commons support including: opening/closing procedures, circulation, reference, patron assistance with library resources and equipment.
Success Center and site support assisting students in LC lab including: Blackboard/WebCampus, basic application, enrollment, registration procedures, liaison with tutors and site staff.
Assist users with resource sharing requests through ILLiad and Delaware Library Catalog.
Clerical services including: periodical processing, shelving, organizing, claims, and missing copy bank, weeding.
Data entry of activity statistics.
Other duties which may be assigned by the Learning Commons Coordinator, Academic Support Administrators, and/or Faculty Librarians.
Hours of Employment: Primarily Friday from 4:30 pm – 7:30 pm. Evenings and Saturdays from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm, as needed. The candidate may be asked to be flexible with hours, including evening/weekend support.
