Head Men's Soccer Coach

Position Summary
The Head Men's Soccer Coach is responsible for all aspects of leading a competitive NCAA Division I men's soccer program to include, but not limited to: coaching (practice and in-game), recruiting, fund-raising, positive encouragement towards student-athlete development, scheduling, and hiring staff. The Head Men's Soccer Coach works cooperatively with all constituencies and campus units.


This position is considered a Responsible Employee under Title IX federal regulations and Mandatory Reporter under Texas state law and The UIW Sexual Misconduct Policy. As a Mandatory Reporter this position requires you as the employee to promptly report any incident that you witness or receive information about violating Title IX. These reporting responsibilities are set out in the UIW Sexual Misconduct Policy.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities
-Ability to coach a successful soccer team at the college level;
-Successfully recruit college-level academically and athletically prepared student-athletes;
-Ability to manage the myriad of on-going responsibilities within a competitive college soccer program, including effectively managing budget, travel, staffing, and parent communications;
-Knowledge of and adhere to all NCAA academic and compliance regulations;
-Fully committed to all NCAA, Southland Conference, and the University of the Incarnate Word Athletics Department policies and procedures;
-Ability to build and sustain positive relationships with student-athletes, former players, faculty, alumni, and staff;
-Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures;
-Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.

Required Education
Bachelors degree

Required Work Experience
Three (3) years of collegiate or professional coaching experience

Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations


Work Hours
Various hours including evenings and weekends.
