About the Opportunity:
The Associate Director, Facilities IT Infrastructure & Applications will serve as the principal IT infrastructure and campus building applications representative for the division. This position will oversee IT infrastructure and campus building applications to support the day-to-day operations of campus facilities. The position will also provide project management staff with guidance on identifying the appropriate IT components for the successful delivery of IT related capital projects. The position will provide leadership for Campus Building Applications and IT Project Specialist(s).

Responsibilities:
Research emerging technologies and recommend use of technologies that will achieve business objectives. Procure, configure and install hardware such as, servers and wireless connectivity devices required for the storage, transfer and management of Facilities data in support of daily operations. Manage specialized databases and enterprise applications, which support building operations. Work with Northeastern IT services in coordinating university wide upgrades and service interruptions which may impact Facilities operations to ensure all appropriate entities are informed and experience limited disruption. In consultation with Northeastern IT Services, define protocols for the exchange of Facilities data with the University's data warehouse and other units/divisions that desire Facilities data. As the principal IT infrastructure and campus building applications representative for the division, the Associate Director, Facilities IT Infrastructure & Applications will: | Lead Campus Building Applications and IT Project Specialist(s) to ensure Facilities IT infrastructure is performing at optimal levels and building applications are meeting the objectives of the University. | Communicate to staff on a regular basis to keep them informed about planned upgrades and service interruptions that may impact operations. | Manage building automation and operation applications to ensure reliability and a level of performance that meets the expectations of university stakeholders. | Act as a liaison between Facilities IT, Northeastern IT and other IT Providers/Technical System Managers at the University; participate in related technology committees, where applicable. | Provide scope review, procurement options and technical guidance for project management staff to ensure the successful delivery of IT related capital projects. | Manage migrations, upgrades, maintenance and configurations of the division's infrastructure hardware and building applications. | Learn about emerging technologies and technology trends in order to effectively leverage opportunities in accordance with the vision and mission of the division and the University. | Test new hardware and software, prior to deployment, to ensure compatibility with existing hardware and software applications. | Create and maintain a detailed inventory of all hardware and software assets deployed throughout the division inclusive of all documentation related to the purchase, repair, upgrade or disposition of such assets. | Create and maintain a list of all third-party subscription services in use by the division inclusive of service provider, number of licenses, authorized user(s), credentialing and access control and expiration/renewal milestones. | Develop, maintain and communicate an IT Strategic Plan that outlines planned enhancements and upgrades to continually improve infrastructure performance and user experience.

Qualifications:
Excellent organizational, multitasking and communication skills. In addition, the candidate will have a strong aptitude for problem solving, networking protocols, data management and wireless technologies. | Experience managing Integrated Workplace Management Systems (Archibus, Maximo, Dude Solutions, etc.) | Experience managing software applications used to support building automation and operations. | Familiarity with Data Warehouse concepts and data integration strategies. Required: | A strong understanding of the fundamentals of Local Area Networks and networking protocols (e.g. TCP/IP) and experience with LAN management is needed. | Familiarity with data exchange protocols and formats to support the exchange of data with enterprise systems. | Ability to develop and execute a multi-year IT strategic plan that promotes emerging technologies, improved performance and operational efficiency. | Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication and organizational skills, as well as a strong aptitude for problem solving. | A Bachelor's degree with at least 8 years of experience managing IT infrastructure and enterprise applications. | Experience with mobile technology across all major devices and platforms, consisting of device setup and configuration, troubleshooting and integration with systems and networks.

Preferred Qualifications: | 8+ years of managing IT infrastructure and enterprise applications within a higher educational environment as well as a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related area.
