About the Opportunity:
Northeastern University - San Francisco is hiring a part-time Operations Assistant at its WeWork location in the Financial District for the spring semester. Those with schedule flexibility are strongly encouraged to apply.
Reporting to the Assistant Director of West Coast Development and Operations, this position ensures that students and faculty are appropriately set up to conduct classes. It responds to requests from current and prospective students, professors, and event attendees, and follows up with them to ensure satisfaction, all while approaching each encounter in a courteous and service-oriented manner.
This is a part-time/temporary position at $18 an hour with a minimum of 15-20 hours required per week. The position is from February - May 2020 with the possibility of an extension. Typical shifts include weekdays between the hours of 5:00 pm - 10:00 pm, and every other Saturday between 9:00 am - 1:00 pm with the ability to flex to accommodate additional/other hours as needed.
Responsibilities:
This position will be responsible for supporting campus operations, which will include:
Staffing the campus for class sessions outside of standard business hours and acting as the first point of contact for its student body
Providing customer service and answering questions of students and professors, which may include troubleshooting technical issues and assisting with classroom technology
Assisting with room setup, breakdown, and reconfiguration
Acting as a liaison and providing hospitality to incoming visitors which could include students and staff from other locations, business partners, and prospective students
Assisting with student orientations
Assisting with various campus events
Completing administrative duties, including but not limited to assisting faculty with printing handouts, organizing marketing materials, maintaining the campus areas in a clean and stocked manner, etc.
Special projects as assigned
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of office coordination experience. Experience in higher education is a plus. The candidate must enjoy working with diverse populations and be comfortable working independently.
The successful candidate will have outstanding customer service and interpersonal skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and G Suite. Detail oriented with a focus on quality and accuracy is desired. Must be able to learn quickly in a technical environment, and operate video conferencing equipment, printers, copiers, and computers. Flexibility, a positive attitude, and commitment to excellence are vital.
