BSN & Master of Science Entry to Practice (MS-EN)

The Georgetown University School of Nursing (GUSON) seeks a full-time educator track instructor faculty for our campus-based Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and Direct Entry Master's programs. The successful candidate is expected to have a minimum of three years academic or clinical teaching experience. Espouses a personal philosophy that aligns with the Georgetown University's School of Nursing mission, vision and commitment to antiracism in any and all forms. Possesses leadership potential and excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Preferred areas of clinical and didactic experience include medical-surgical, public health or psychiatric-mental health nursing with specific experience in clinical education, skills lab and simulation.

Responsibilities include:
  • Didactic and clinical instruction within content area of expertise
  • Faculty advisor to BSN and Direct Entry Master's students
  • Participation in curriculum development, program review and evaluation, accreditation activities and annual reporting reports to various external bodies.
  • Engagement in SON and program level activities, scholarship, service, and mission supporting initiatives.
  • Active engagement with other programs within the school and university

Required Qualifications:
  • Current eligibility to obtain an RN license in the District of Columbia
  • Master's degree in nursing

Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience and/or certification in simulation education
  • Experience in simulation curricular development
  • Active in clinical practice

The SON is seeking a faculty member committed to student formation, who is engaged in nursing education across the nursing student population. The successful candidate should have excellent interpersonal, communication, and teaching skills with demonstrated ability to serve as a strong role model for students and faculty. Academic rank commensurate with qualifications. In addition, the successful candidate is expected to collaborate with faculty in pursuing scholarly inquiry and dissemination of scholarship.

Georgetown University has been a leader in nursing education since 1903. The Georgetown University School of Nursing is situated in the Georgetown University Medical Center. Outstanding resources support faculty research, collaboration, and teaching, and include the O'Neill Family Foundation Clinical Simulation Center, the Office of Research Support and Administration, and the Discovery Center, which is a teaching and research laboratory.

The projected salary pay range for this position is $90,000-$100,000, which represents the full range of anticipated compensation for this position. Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University's business needs and external factors.
