The Program in Disability Studies at Georgetown University is searching for a full time, non-tenure-line lecturer, beginning August 2025. We are looking for candidates who specialize in Disability Studies with a focus on Deaf Studies and Disability Culture. The teaching load for this position will be three courses per semester for a total of six courses, with teaching responsibilities at the undergraduate level. The successful candidate will teach at least two core courses each semester, including Introduction to Disability Studies, and other elective courses based on the candidate's scholarly expertise. Additional responsibilities include service to the program as well as student advising and mentorship. The Program in Disability Studies is a thriving interdisciplinary program offering a minor open to all undergraduate students as well as a MA/PhD certificate at Georgetown University.

Qualifications

An M.A. or Ph.D. in disability studies or a closely related field is required prior to appointment. Candidates must demonstrate evidence of excellence in undergraduate teaching, including a commitment to innovative and inclusive pedagogy.

The projected salary pay range for this position is $58,927 - 65,474, which represents the full range of anticipated compensation for this position. Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University's business needs and external factors.
