What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be


The Research Associate will conduct research on a NASA-funded project. This will involve growing various plant species under different environmental conditions in growth chambers, characterizing plant functions including photosynthesis, plant pigments and tocopherol, as well as chlorophyll fluorescence, conducting statistical analyses, and preparing figures and text for manuscripts for publication.




What We Can Offer


We offer a 40% appointment for one year, totaling $24,000 for one year.

What We Require

  • PhD in plant biology
  • Experience with NASA-funded projects
  • Experience with growing Lemnaceae and Arabidopsis
  • Experience with running Conviron growth chambers
  • Experience with analyzing plant pigments, especially separating zeaxanthin and lutein, and tocopherols via HPLC
  • Experience with chlorophyll fluorescence using Walz fluorometers
  • Experience with oxygen exchange measurements using leaf disc oxygen electrodes
  • Experience with statistical data analysis
  • Experience with preparation of publication-quality figures and text for manuscripts for publication
