Primary Purpose of Position:
The School of Business at North Carolina Central University invites applications
for a faculty position to serve as chef in the Department of Hospitality and
Tourism Administration. Focusing on the areas of food production and
service management, general business ; summer teaching is possible.
Educate and train students executive and management careers in the
hospitality and tourism industry.

Minimum Education/Experience:

A degree in culinary arts and/or culinary/food production courses and several years of experience in a culinary/hospitality program or in the restaurant business.
Master's in hospitality management or a related field.
Experience teaching hospitality management courses at the undergraduate and/or graduate level.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

A degree in culinary arts and/or culinary/food production courses and several years of experience in a culinary/hospitality program or in the restaurant business.
Master's in hospitality management or a related field.
Strong background in food, with expertise in food production and traditional hospitality.
Experience teaching hospitality management courses at the undergraduate and/or graduate level.
Knowledge of ACPHA accreditation standards and experience in maintaining accreditation.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Teaching assignments may include but are not limited to, baking and pastry fundamentals, culinary fundamentals, protein selection, banquet & buffet, sanitation & safety, culinary math, culinary and food preparation fundamentals, purchasing and cost control, quantity food production and service, banquets and buffets and special events. Introduction to culinary/hospitality, as well as any course offered in the Culinary/Hospitality program
