Position Announcement
The UVU Master of Social Work program is seeking a passionate and experienced Licensed Clinical Social Worker to join our efforts in training the next generation of Utah social workers! In the role of Associate Director- MSW Field Education, you will work closely with the MSW Field Education Director to manage field placements for MSW students, ensuring they gain both generalist and specialized practice experience across various system levels. You will train and supervise Field Placement Supervisors, strengthen community partnerships, assess community needs and trends, oversee student safety protocols, and ensure compliance with accreditation standards. Additionally, you will mentor students in professional social work practice, fostering ethical, competency based, integrity-driven approaches.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Mentor students in integrating theoretical and conceptual social work curriculum taught in the classroom into practice in the field setting through facilitating selected sections of the MSW Field Seminar course. Independently manage field education during the summer semester.
- Evaluate, regulate, and supervise field setting and field instructor effectiveness through field site visits to ensure compliance with Council on Social Work Education accreditation requirements.
- Assess and ensure students attain proficiency in Council on Social Work Education prescribed competencies across all systems levels (individual, family, groups, organizations, and communities) through observation, student reflections and assignments, interviews, and surveys of students and field instructors.
- Manage documentation of compliance with all UVU and MSW program policies including Master Internship Agreement (in coordination with UVU Contracts officer), Agency Accreditation Compliance Agreement, Student Practicum Application, Field Placement Agreement, Timesheets, and Supervision documentation.
- Acts as a liaison between social work practitioners in the community and the MSW program director including assessing trends in social work practice within the community to recommend curriculum changes.
- Plans, coordinates, and executes MSW field education events including Field Instructor Conference (orients and trains new Field Instructors) and MSW Field Placement event (matches field agencies and students).
Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications
Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from a CSWE accredited program.
Preferred Qualifications
Clinical social work practice experience
Licenses or Certifications
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
