Assistant Professor of Biological Sciences
Position: Assistant Professor of Biological Sciences to teach majors and non-majors General Biology courses at multiple University of Tennessee-Martin locations, including both UT-Martin and UTM Regional Center in Ripley, Tennessee.
Effective date: January 1, 2025
Qualifications: Acceptable applicants must hold a Ph.D. in the Biological Sciences or a closely related field. In addition, the successful applicant must be able to demonstrate experience in the following:
- Teaching lectures and laboratories in General Biology for science majors
- Teaching lectures and laboratories in General Biology for non-science majors
Preference will be given to candidates that have demonstrated teaching excellence, industry experience, and/or experience in academic service such as university, college, or department-level committee work or academic advising.
Salary: Commensurate with qualifications.
The University: The University of Tennessee at Martin is a primary campus in the University of Tennessee System that supports five Regional Centers at Jackson, Parsons, Ripley, Selmer, and Sommerville. The Ripley Center campus is in Lauderdale County in west Tennessee, approximately 75 miles southwest of the main campus in Martin. The University of Tennessee at Martin has a combined graduate and undergraduate enrollment of approximately 7,000 students. The emphasis is solidly on excellence in teaching, research, and outreach.
