JOB SUMMARY
Simmons University is seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Graduate Program Marketing to create and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy to support enrollment growth across the university's six schools and over 25 graduate programs. The Director will work in close partnership with Graduate Program Directors, the Graduate Admission team and the University Marketing and Communications team to align efforts, maximize resources and meet ambitious enrollment goals.
The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in traditional and digital marketing with knowledge of higher education enrollment trends, as well as experience working in Slate to segment audiences, build and execute communication plans and track and analyze campaign performance.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Collaborate with graduate program and admission directors to assess program-specific marketing and communication needs.
- Design and implement multi-channel marketing plans aimed at achieving enrollment goals across graduate programs.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the Admission team and University Marketing and Communication team.
- Oversee the implementation of cross-channel marketing campaigns including the production of marketing collateral, print materials, web content and digital advertising campaigns.
- Implement data-drive marketing tactics to engage prospective students at all stages of the enrollment funnel including the development and management of email campaigns in Slate, social media initiatives, lead generation and lead nurture strategies.
- Analyze and report on marketing data and campaign performance metrics to refine strategies and ensure efforts are directly connected to enrollment goals.
- Conduct competitive and market research to inform marketing efforts for new and existing programs.
- Support new program launches from a marketing and communications perspective.
- Review and refine existing marketing communication plans for the portfolio of graduate programs, which include: program-specific email campaigns to various segments of the admission funnel, postcards, and text messages.
- Identify internal and external resources to support marketing and enrollment goals; manage marketing budgets in collaboration with admission and marketing team.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in organizing recruitment events, such as graduate open houses, webinars, and information sessions.
- Stay informed about higher education and graduate enrollment trends to proactively adapt marketing strategies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in marketing with at least 2 years in higher education, ideally in admission marketing.
- Proven track record in enrollment marketing or higher education.
- Experience managing print and digital asset production, working across multiple departments and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in CRM platforms (preferably Slate) for email campaigns, lead nurturing and reporting.
- Strong traditional and digital marketing skills, including knowledge of SEO/SEM, social media marketing and analytics tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create clear, compelling marketing content.
- Exceptional communications, project management and organizational skills.
- Experience collaborating with multiple stakeholders in a complex organizational environment.
- Ability to work independently and to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to translate ideas to action and collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working with Slate.
- Knowledge of graduate admission and education market trends.
- Familiarity with health sciences, library and information science, liberal arts and social work disciplines.
- Graduate-specific marketing and recruitment experience.
- Design skillset.
- Social media ad experience.
- Experience creating digital templates for emails.
