This position will be a full-time in-person position, with 75% time dedicated to teaching and 25% to service to the growing Public Health Program. 75% time teaching means 3 courses per semester The University of Colorado Boulder is committed to building a culturally diverse community of faculty, staff, and students dedicated to contributing to an inclusive campus environment. Who We Are

The Public Health Program at CU was recently formed to house the new Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree and minor in Public Health. The BA degree is being added to the very popular Certificate in Public Health that has been the largest certificate on the CU campus with on average 400 students enrolled at a given time and on average 200 students graduating per year with the certificate. The Certificate in Public Health will become a minor in Public Health in the 2025-2026 academic year.

The curriculum for the BA in Public Health provides students with the opportunity to broaden their perspective on health and behavior, epidemiology, and the health of communities and populations. Because we do not have a School of Public Health on the CU campus, our courses are taught from numerous departments within all three divisions (Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, and the Humanities) within the College of Arts & Sciences. This program provides students with the knowledge, skills and expertise required for advanced training and careers in public health, medicine, nursing, and other allied health fields. This goal is to shape students into critical thinkers, require students to engage in active learning, and encourage students to become trailblazers of social justice and equity.

The Public Health Program at CU is committed to a diverse, equitable and inclusive academic culture. As we strive to do our part in implementing the CU Boulder campus' Inclusive, Diversity and Excellence in Academics plan, we embrace the goal of expanding access and participation of diverse and underrepresented communities in Public Health. Based on our program and university's dedication to diversity and inclusive excellence, we particularly welcome applications from candidates whose background/expertise and commitment reflect this work within and among communities that are historically underrepresented in earth and environmental sciences.
