Job Description

Truckee Meadows Community College (TMCC), located in Reno, Nevada is seeking applicants for an Emergency Medical Services Lab Coordinator.

This position is responsible for management of the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) laboratory including scheduling, supplies and equipment for the EMS programs. Assist with organization of laboratory activities. Serve as a resource and technical support for faculty for all equipment, software and patient simulators. Assist in EMS skills and simulations as a proctor/assistant instructor where needed.

Minimum Qualifications

A combination of related work experience and/or education may be considered, including but not limited to the following:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and two years of experience related to EMS.
  • Associate's degree from an accredited institution and four years of experience related to EMS.
  • Six years of experience related to EMS.


Preferred Qualifications

1. EMS simulation experience.

2. Current, valid certifications such as Paramedic, BLS, ACLS , PALS, ITLS or PHTLS.

Responsibilities

Candidates must exhibit an appreciation of, a sensitivity to, and respect for a diverse academic environment, inclusive of students, faculty, and staff of varying social, economic, cultural, ideological and ethnic backgrounds.

1. Effectively communicate and collaborate with faculty and staff to manage the laboratory for the EMS program.

2. Purchasing of supplies and equipment for the EMS programs with approval and review of budget with the Department/Program Director.

3. Organization, setup and take down of student laboratory experiences.

4. Equipment maintenance and preventative maintenance.

5. Maintenance of laboratory supplies.

6. Transportation and lifting of equipment including mannequins and supplies.

7. Understand and accept the role to be played as a partner in an educational enterprise serving the best interests of the students.

8. Other duties as assigned.

Salary and Benefits Information:

Salary: $58,415 - $73,019 initial salary placement will be dependent on education level and years of experience.
