Position Details:
One regular part time position, 10 months per year with June and July off on the Oceanside Campus. The typical schedule is afternoons to early evenings, 3-4 days per week (Tuesday to Friday), totaling up to 16 hours per week (e.g., 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM). Weekend shifts may also be required, starting 2 hours before events on Saturdays and/or Sundays, depending on district needs.The person selected for this position will be subject to assignment to any district facility during any hours of operation.
The first-level interviews with the screening and interview committee will be conducted via Zoom. The second-level interviews may be in-person or via Zoom.
RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT:
MiraCosta College Board Policy 7800: Employee Residency requires all classified staff, administrators, and temporary/hourly short-term employees to maintain and permanently reside in a principal place of residence in the state of California that is within two-hundred (200) road miles from the employees regularly assigned district worksite. The purpose of the policy is to promote efficiency and continuity throughout all campus administrative functions, provide students with high quality assistance and accessibility to all academic and campus services, ensure that students receive an engaging education, and respond to emerging student needs.
The District may consider an individual request to temporarily reside outside of the State of California or outside the 200-mile limit on a case-by-case basis, not to exceed twelve consecutive months.

Compensation:
Starting at $25.43 per hour (range 11, step 1), with annual salary step increases up to step 5. In addition, after five years of district service, employees earn a longevity stipend that increases over time.

Basic Function:
Under direction, perform responsible cashiering duties; receive payments, control cash, reconcile funds and post to student accounts; balance cash drawer at closing and cash drawers of weekend sales; provide information regarding district procedures to students, staff, faculty and public vendors; provide third-party billing; and perform related duties as assigned.
