On-Call Bursar Specialist (Temporary)

Position Summary:
Monmouth University is seeking applications for a temporary, on-call Bursar Specialist for the Office of the Bursar.
The candidate would be expected to:
- Prepare batches of bills for upload to TouchNet. Revise various bill messages to reflect payment due date and any pertinent specific information for referral, i.e., reductions in aid, payment plan adjustments.
- Execute the schedule for monthly billing/outreach to students with outstanding balances. Track outstanding balances for potential graduates, continue collections efforts, and coordinate resolutions with Registrar's and Residential Life Offices, as necessary.
- Review payment plan reports and terminate plans for excessive delinquency. Conduct outreach to help mitigate the number of plans that become delinquent.
- Review current students' past due balances and coordinate transfers to Collections at end of terms as necessary. Process and transfer any subsequent credits between Student Receivables and Collections.
- Monitor the retroactive registration procedure: review students' requests and approve for processing to Registrar's Office as appropriate.
- Distribute targeted mass email and text communications to students on behalf of the office.
- Participate in outreach efforts to students at risk of cancellation.
- Assist with coverage of cashiering functions in the absence of the Bursar Specialist during breaks and scheduled time off.
- Assist with coverage of the departmental phone line and email box.
This is an in-person, on campus, non remote position.

Intermediate knowledge of MS Word 2016, Intermediate knowledge of MS Excel 2016
Required Years of Experience: 4
Other Requirements:
- Four (4) years of related experience
- Must have excellent customer service skills.
- Proficiency in verbal and written communication with students, parents, and University staff.
- Thorough knowledge of student financial accounts and understanding of the options available to students to finance an education.
- Strong business acumen, mathematical skills, and problem-solving ability.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ellucian Colleague and Touchnet Bill & payment software
- Experience running queries with Informer
