AnnualA. POSITION PURPOSE
The Senior Director of Inclusive Governance is a member of the leadership team of the Leavey Executive Center (LEC), in the Leavey School of Business, at Santa Clara University. This person has administrative authority of the Center's inclusive governance program portfolio and is responsible for all aspects of program operations, stakeholder management, budget management, and new program innovation. This person ensures that the inclusive governance program portfolio is continually relevant to the modern corporate governance environment and reflects the high standards of excellence and values of the university. This position reports to the Executive Director of the LEC.
B. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Lead and direct programming related to inclusive governance and maintain standards of excellence for stakeholder engagement.
- Ensure successful execution of all programs and efficient daily operation of the inclusive governance program team.
- Lead innovation for existing and launch of new programs.
- Set learning outcomes and success metrics for certificate programs and continuing education.
- Ensure a positive experience for all program participants and potential participants, partners, sponsors, faculty, and volunteers.
- Lead efforts to cultivate program alumni and volunteers.
- Lead the growth of the LEC's inclusive governance fingerprint in the corporate governance ecosystem.
2. Oversee operations of the Institute and ensure a robust P&L.
- Plan and implement an annual operating budget ensuring fiscal compliance and spending.
- Develop data infrastructure to meet the evolving needs of the programs.
- Create institutional procedures, operating workflows, reporting, and all other operations-related aspects of inclusive governance programs ensuring that they are efficient, productive, understood by all team members, and aligned with expectations of the operations of the LEC, the Leavey School of Business, and the University.
- Work with Leavey Marketing & Communications team personnel, LEC team members, and other stakeholders to ensure effective and compliant marketing campaigns are in place for inclusive governance programs.
- Direct efforts to connect the LEC's network in the corporate governance ecosystem to other parts of the LEC portfolio.
3. Lead and manage advisory boards of programs. This role will:
- Serve as executive chair of program boards.
- Prepare for and lead board meetings with elected board Chairs.
- Develop strategic vision and direction, and establish annual goals and objectives for boards.
- Advise and provide administrative support for boards and correlating committees.
- Ensure compliance with and regular updating of advisory board governing documents.
4. Lead and manage research initiatives of the LEC's inclusive governance efforts.
- Assess the corporate governance ecosystem on a continual basis and ensure a distinctive voice of the LEC's inclusive governance efforts.
- Collaborate with internal SCU faculty as well as external research partners to produce relevant and practical insights to help drive the mission of the LEC's inclusive governance efforts.
- Lead the creation of relevant internships, fellowships, and research projects related to the mission of the LEC's inclusive governance efforts.
5. Other work as assigned.

- Future staff as required.
D. GENERAL GUIDELINES
- Is confident and able to exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate course of action.
- Understands the needs of all stakeholders and identifies problems and possible solutions in service delivery.
- Recommends initiatives and implements changes to improve quality and services.
- Identifies and determines cause of problems; develops and presents recommendations for improvement of established processes and practices.
- Maintains contact with customers and solicits feedback for improved services
- Maximizes productivity through use of appropriate tools; planned training and performance initiatives.
- Researches and develops resources that create timely and efficient workflow.
- Prepares progress reports; informs supervisor of project status; and deviation from goals. Ensures completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of all operational functions.
- Prepares and submits reports as requested and required.
- Develops and implements guidelines to support program functions.
E. QUALIFICATIONS

Education
- Bachelors' degree required. Advanced degree preferred.
Years of Experience
- Six to eight years of program management or student services related experience.
