Job Summary
The Educational Support Coordinator will plan, develop, and manage the implementation and monitoring of student academic support in the COEHD. The position will report to the Associate Dean of Academics and Educator Preparation. The Coordinator collaborates with faculty and staff in the colleges to learn about academic content needs and integrate course requirements into academic enhancement programming. Programming responsibilities include arranging one-on-one and group tutoring and providing direct course and faculty support. This position will meet one-on-one with students in the COEHD for success planning, and lead seminars and workshops to provide coaching in life skills/academic success strategies. The role requires strong data analysis skills to assess the effectiveness of programming, track student outcomes, monitor progression and retention rates, and develop regular reports on college outcomes. Familiarity with Excel is key, and experience with student information systems such as EAB Navigate is preferred. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are essential.
Responsibilities
The duties include, but are not limited to:
STUDENT ENGAGEMENT: Meet one-on-one with students in the COEHD to create personalized success plans, track progress, and provide support. Host workshops in academic content areas and success skills, such as study strategies and time management. Collaborate with academic advisors and admissions team to develop an early alert process and develop targeted academic success coaching for at risk students as they enter and progress through our programs. Collaborate with the Associate Dean for Academics, Department Chairs, and Faculty to generate a personalized academic plan for students on academic probation. This should lead to a decrease in students being suspended or dismissed from our programs. Monitor D, F, and W rates and collaborate with Chairs and faculty to address consistent concerns
MANAGING ACADEMIC SUCCESS PROGRAMMING: Developing and maintaining academic support programming for the COEHD. Collaborate with unit staff to develop a comprehensive academic support schedule each semester. Develop online resources as needed.
OVERSEE STUDENT LIFE AND OUTREACH FOR THE COEHD: Focus on student retention through supporting events such as New Student Orientations with our team, Kinesiology +1 Night, Kinesiology Documentary Night, Coordinating College Study Abroad trips, Developing Learning Communities, Hosting graduation celebrations, Hosting GACE Tutoring Events, and coordinating university and community engagement opportunities (i.e. Homecoming, AU Day of Service, etc.). Coordinate Dean's List Celebrations and Honors Night with our team. Manage and strengthen registered College Student Organizations. Strengthen our College Alumni community through support of organizations and events and nominations for awards. Connect with freshman and transfer students in our college, build community, and provide resources/support to ensure progression and retention in our majors. Track data regarding retention and progression.
ENGAGE IN DATA COLLECTION AND DEVELOP PROGRESS REPORTS: Maintaining data related to student enrollment, attendance, and retention and tracking of benchmarks for program assessment. Creating regular reports on academic support services for the COEHD.
OTHER DUTIES: Perform all other job-related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of program development, data gathering, assessment, and evaluation skills.
Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills with the ability to recognize opportunities and experience in developing innovative student support programs.

Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Days/M-F (Work outside of normal business hours may be required)
Pay Band: B8
Salary: Minimum $45,400/annually
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum midpoint) of the position.
