Position Summary:
Monmouth University is seeking applications for a Specialist Professor/Internship Coordinator of Criminal Justice and Homeland Security in the Department of Criminal Justice. This non-tenure track position is for the 2025-2026 academic year and is a two-year initial appointment subject to subsequent multi-year reappointments.

As internship coordinator, the incumbent will oversee the Department's internship program and teach 12 credits per semester in the undergraduate program, interact with various governmental agencies and academic institutions to establish student internship opportunities, serve on committees, advise students, maintain disciplinary currency, and develop and teach courses in social inequality and antiracism.

This is an in-person, on-campus, non-remote position.

Master's degree

Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills, Must be able to treat confidential and sensitive information appropriately

Other Requirements:

Master's degree or higher in Criminal Justice or related discipline
At least five (5) years' work experience that includes significant subject matter expertise in criminal justice practice and policy
Potential for effective teaching at the University level
Ability to work constructively with members of the University community

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in managing an internship program at the university level
Experience in counseling on career and employment issues
Knowledge of employer recruiting strategies, job market trends, and employment information sources
Ability to develop and teach courses in social inequality and antiracism
