Location
Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.
Job Summary
Supervises work assignments of multiple skilled discipline shops. Manages time and materials on projects and performs inspections of external contractors for maintenance, renovations, and repairs to university property. Assists the leadership with ensuring facilities are structurally sound, mechanically operational, electrically efficient, and safe. Provides customer service to enhance Plant Operations.
Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: -
1. Supervises maintenance team in routine maintenance of facilities, equipment, and systems
2. Assures completion of assigned maintenance tasks
3. Assists with training personnel in the proper use of test equipment, hand and power tools, and shop safety
4. Assists with monitoring workflow and work assignment schedules
5. Maintains accurate records on equipment
6. Assists with documenting the cost of maintenance repairs and services
7. Complies with and enforces policies, laws, and regulations governing environmental protection, hazardous waste disposal, and use of chemical substances and materials
8. Provides around-the-clock responsiveness to mechanical failures or emergencies including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent
Other Required Qualifications
Current, valid and unrestricted driver's license
Required Experience
Five (5) years of experience in the repair and maintenance of industrial and/or commercial facilities or related field including previous supervisory or managerial experience
Preferred Qualifications
Additional Preferred Qualifications
State license for HVAC or Electrical
Energy Management Certificate
EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification or other EPA, EPD, ASHRAE, or OSHA Certification
Preferred Educational Qualifications
An undergraduate or advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a related field
Preferred Experience
Experience in mechanical, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), electrical, plumbing, and refrigeration
Proposed Salary

ABILITIES

Able to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and system failures
Able to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams
Able to work hours outside the normal work schedule including mandatory overtime
Able to cultivate and maintain external communications with our customers to enhance customer service
Able to walk the campus and interact with the community to ensure tasks are completed correctly
Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one-time meeting assigned deadlines
KNOWLEDGE
Experience using Building Automation Systems
Experience using Integrated Work Management Systems or Computerized Maintenance Management Systems
Knowledge of current codes, standards, and work practices
Working knowledge of EPA, EPD, ASHRAE, and OSHA regulations and standards
SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills
Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft Office suite)
Skilled in the proper use of test equipment and hand and power tools
Strong attention to detail and follow up skills
Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
