The Georgia Cancer Center is on a mission for Georgia providing industry-leading cancer research and care that benefits patients locally and globally. The Georgia Cancer Center M. Bert Storey Research Building provides quality research space to promote multidisciplinary collaborations and translational research, which is essential to creating an environment that promotes innovation. Our research approach supports important National Cancer Institute goals including ensuring every cancer patient has access to the newest and most innovative clinical trials in the nation, clinicians and researchers work together to initiate new research protocols based on the clinician's interaction with the patient, and each cancer patient receives personalized treatment through the interaction of the multidisciplinary team of clinicians and allied health professionals.

Job Summary

Provides administrative support to the faculty and staff of the Georgia Cancer Center. Other duties of this position include coordinating travel arrangements, ordering supplies, maintaining supplies inventory, and serving as a resources for administrative policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Manage Grand Rounds and Research in Progress learning semina

Manage Grand Rounds and Research in Progress learning seminars, including speaker communication, coordination with support team and CME Coordinator, and collaboration with Marketing team.

Support visiting speaker itineraries and other small internal event coordination. Interface with Director's Suite to ensure seamless experience for esteemed guests and dignitaries

Maintain accurate and organized paper

Maintain accurate and organized paper and electronic filing systems. Maintain electronic project management/tracking systems for all administrative requests.

Ensures that all lab equipment, chemical

Ensures that all lab equipment, chemical and supply orders, as well as office supply orders, are placed in a timely manner to ensure constant supply. Track shipments of all orders.

Maintains accurate records of purchases

Maintains accurate records of purchases (e.g. P-Card, PeopleSoft requisitions, PPG/MCG Check Requests) and appropriate inventory at all times (e.g. equipment, computers, supplies, reimbursements). Prepare P-Card transaction report for monthly reconciliation and audits as needed.

Type/correct and distribute correspondence

Type/correct and distribute correspondence, i.e. letters, manuscripts, reviews, publications, applications, etc

Process all travel requests for faculty

Process all travel requests for faculty, checking for required information, backup, signatures and mathematical accuracy.

Process mail for faculty, to include distributing mail

Process mail for faculty, to include distributing mail, arranging courier pickup of immediate items, tracking shipments, etc.

Other duties as assigned

Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and a minimum of fours of progressively responsible experience in administrative support positions or a High School, GED or equivalent from a recognized state or federal accredited organization and seven years progressively responsible experience in administrative support positions.

Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases

Shift/Salary/Benefits

Shift: Days/M-F

Pay Band: B5

Salary Minimum: $17.88/hourly - $21.92/hourly

Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position

Conditions of Employment
