Job Description
The IT Services Student Worker plays a key role in supporting campus technology needs. This position involves assisting users with technical issues, maintaining IT equipment, managing help desk tickets, and collaborating with the ITS team to enhance IT services. The role provides hands-on experience in troubleshooting, networking, and system support, making it an excellent opportunity for students interested in IT careers.

Responsibilities

Assist students, faculty, and staff with technical support for hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
Respond to and resolve help desk tickets in a timely manner.
Set up and maintain computers, printers, and other IT equipment in labs and offices.
Provide excellent customer service by guiding users through troubleshooting steps.
Support ITS staff with software installations, system updates, and basic network troubleshooting.
Maintain accurate documentation of technical issues and solutions.
Help manage IT inventory, including loaner equipment and peripherals.
Participate in training sessions to enhance technical knowledge and customer service skills.
Assist with special IT projects as needed.

Qualifications

Must be a currently enrolled student at UT Martin.
Strong interest in information technology, computer science, or related fields.
Basic knowledge of Windows, macOS, and common software applications.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong customer service orientation with a willingness to learn.
Previous IT support or help desk experience is a plus but not required.
