Postdoctoral Research Associate

About the Opportunity

There is an opening in Prof. Soner Sonmezoglu's research group for a Postdoctoral Research Associate or Research Scientist with skills and/or interests in biomedical imaging (photoacoustic or ultrasound), optics, or implantable medical device packaging/development (or any combination thereof). The research project will focus on developing an innovative biomedical imaging system to assist in the precise diagnosis of major diseases, including cancer and cardiovascular disease.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • PhD in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, Biomedical Engineering, or a relevant field.
  • Demonstrated experience in the heterogeneous integration of micro-scale devices and components (optical, electrical, and mechanical).
  • Proficiency/familiarity with biocompatible packaging of implantable medical devices.
  • Proficiency/familiarity in designing and conducting imaging studies and evaluating study outcomes.
  • Background/familiarity with pulsed lasers for photoacoustic imaging.
  • Proven ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong publication record in relevant scientific journals.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
