Clackamas Community College (CCC) seeks to hire an
Environmental Learning Center
position. This is a part-time, faculty, exempt, and non benefits-eligible position.
This is a part-time instructor pool for available assignments in Fall and Spring terms. We expect the position to work between 5 and 10 hours per week, generally weekday mornings. The work is in-person and takes place in our Oregon City campus. The activities are mostly field trips that take place outdoors. This role will require selecting a schedule based on your availability on a weekly basis on a first come, first served basis.

The Environmental Learning Center at Clackamas Community College provides our community with several education opportunities and courses including the following:
- K-12 Field Trips
- Livestream programs
- Nature Spy Camps
- Nature Spy Explorer Kits
- Nature Striders Preschool programs
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION
Job functions will vary depending on the program a person is placed into, but may include the following:
- Lead groups of children on nature-based field trips at the Environmental Learning Center (ELC).
- Lead day camp activities at the ELC.
- Deliver engaging outdoor lessons via Livestream from the ELC.
- Engage with children in a safe, welcoming and engaging manner.
- Interact with parents and teachers in a professional manner.
- Follow all safety rules and procedures for work areas.
Qualifications
MINIMUM/MANDATORY EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the duties as described. This includes experience leading outdoor education for children.
Ability to exemplify traits that reflect the College's culture, including integrity, a customer service orientation, cultural competency, trustworthiness, flexibility and a willingness to change.
KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of the natural world.
SKILLS
Outdoor youth education: stimulating the imagination, encouraging a fun & enriching experience, conveying key concepts, establishing behavior expectations.
ABILITIES
Ability to work with large groups of children in an outdoor setting, and to coordinate with other staff; communicate effectively with staff, families, teachers and children.
Physical ability to perform the essential job functions.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Degree in Environmental Science/Education or related field.
First Aid certification.

Terms of Employment
- All positions at CCC are required to be available for work onsite as requested by the college.
- Requires a flexible work schedule to meet program needs, which may include evenings and/or weekends.
- Your official transcripts will need to be sent from the Registrar of your degree granting institution within 30 days of your hire.
- CCC employees must reside within 50 miles of Oregon City, Harmony or Wilsonville campus as a condition of employment.
- Proof of eligibility to work in the United States must be provided if selected for hire.
- CCC does not support employment permits or visas.
